Amy King has greatly helped my son Shane. Amy has worked with my son for 3
years. He has dyslexia and when she first started with him
he could not communicate beyond a 3 or 4-word sentence or
phrase. These sentences often had improper grammar. He had
trouble with word association and was reading more than 2
years below his level. He could not take standardized tests
with his class because of comprehension difficulty. His
grades were primarily low C’s and D’s. He was also starting
to cheat on tests as it was his only way of getting
answers. He was not able to write sentences or thoughts.
Today Shane has an A-
grade average at a very challenging parochial school and is
reading at his 4th grade level. He has the best
penmanship in the entire 4th grade (four
classrooms). Language Arts is one of his best subjects –
currently an “A.”
These results are largely due to Amy’s professional effort. He had two prior
speech pathologists before Amy. He enjoys working with her
even after a full day of school and an hour of tutoring.
Amy is very focused and results-oriented.
I am divorced and have sole custody of Shane (my only child) so he is my family and
accordingly the “apple of my eye.” I owe a debt of gratitude to Amy King.

J., mother of Jenny, age 12
Dear Amy.
Little did I know when
you and Jenny started working together how important you
would become to both Jenny and to me. I think it is now
three years.
Jenny has made real
progress in her work because of your skill and attention to
her needs as well as your astute observation of her as she
develops and as her needs change. She looks forward to her
time with you. You provide just the right mix of coaxing,
fun, challenge and affirmation that allows a child with
Jenny’s needs to feel comfortable enough to learn. Your generosity in
helping me along the way seems boundless. When we
discovered Jenny needed to change schools, I felt you were a
partner with me in the painful process of figuring out what
to do and where to go. With your help, we developed a good
strategy. When I was too upset to talk in the meeting with
the principal of Jenny’s old school you picked right up and
carried on the conversation. When I had to go to the new
school to meet the principal and navigate unfamiliar waters,
you were right there with me. You not only are an expert in
your field, you exhibit good judgment and you have a large
dose of common sense.
Anyone with the good
fortune to wind up at your door for help with their child,
should count their blessings and sign on. There are other
good speech pathologists out there, maybe even as good as
you, but there isn’t anyone better.
